Thousands of the faithful from across the world attend Itikaf every year in the company of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri each year. Today on September 21, 2008, the hundreds of caravans of the participants will reach the Itikaf city on 20th of the holy month of Ramadhan.

Thousands of people would attend Itikaf in order to achieve such objectives as purgation of self, understanding of the faith, reform of ones affairs and repentance. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the participants this year. The central ‘Itikaf gah’ has been extended to the playground adjacent to Jamia al-Minhaj.

Special arrangements have been made for people of every age group. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi and naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz reviewed all arrangements and handed over the charge to the administrative committees. In addition to performing a number of religious activities, the participants would listen to spiritual speeches of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The holding of International Spiritual Gathering on the night of 27th of Ramadhan is the chief highlight of 10-day schedule.
